Closing the Self-Healing Gap

You Know What to Do, But Can You Do It?


When clients come to me and we hone in on their issues it becomes clear that most of them already understand what it is they need to do to help themselves. We are living with ourselves 24/7, so it's only natural we have at least some awareness of who we are. This becomes especially true as we get older.


The Participatory Nature of Healing


The body has a tremendous capacity for self-healing and regeneration. Sometimes we simply need to slow down long enough to expand our awareness in a direction that allows us to tap into this power. Even small adjustments to lifestyle factors can help to mitigate health issues or maintain the body in a steady state. 


Healing to a state of wellness only happens with your consent and participation. 


Healing Is a Spiral, Not a Circle


Through my work with clients astrologically, I see that people tend to repeat the same cycles over and over. That is in part, because astrology operates on the spirals of planetary cycles that go round and round. Each cycle carries learning with it. And every time we pass through a similar cycle, we do so with the added wisdom of experience and age. 


Healing then is about moving forward in a vortex, such that we are never in the same place twice. 


Stuck?


Where people often get stuck is when they understand what it is they need to do. Meaning they  can articulate it, but somehow are unable to act on it to make the change needed for improvements. We are often powerless to behave in ways other than what we have become habitually used to doing. This is the gap where energy healing can enter to make a meaningful difference. 


Illness is a state of unbalance often caused by bad habits that disrupt healthy eating, sleep, or exercise patterns. Interpersonal stress, economic pressures, and psychological strain can all feed into the imbalances that lead to a lack of optimal health. 


But, the body has its own knowledge and is always working to self-regulate and restore homeostasis.


The Self-Healing Dynamic


In fact, Hippocrates, considered the “father of medicine”, said that healing is not the treatment accomplished by the physician but results from the self-healing capacity within the human body. It is a dynamic balance that bridges the gap between treatment and full-body wellness. Self-healing empowers the capacity we all have for recovery.


The optimal way to attain a healthy state is to enhance and maintain our innate healing powers. 


The Body’s Innate Wisdom


Energy healing has the capacity to quickly collapse the space between knowing what to do and being able to do it. Because it is non-local it can reach into past timelines to release the patterns stuck in our biology or psyche. When these patterns are released, the energy that was held within them becomes available to us once again, free to be used in our daily lives.


Healing in this way generates usable energy and the body guided by its own intelligent wisdom knows what to do with it. 


What might this look like in reality?


Here are some insights from participants in a study on self-healing in older adults:


“If a person living with a chronic illness adheres to a healthy lifestyle, he can live with a much lower illness impact and burden and perhaps continue to improve and feel better. It is not uncommon for older adults that quit unhealthy habits to feel better as they age.”


“Self-care is a lot more than taking appropriate medicine. One should not just take medicine and refuse to exercise and eat properly.”


“When you know your self-worth and discover the true value of your life, you are more resistant to external effects and various illnesses.”


“Freedom is a higher-level emotion, it’s spiritual. And joy is an emotion that brings a state of wellbeing; to express good emotions brings a pleasant psychological state.”
