Scorpio Season

The Inner Science of Scorpio

There is something uncompromising about Scorpio. Coming off the Sun in LIbra it begins with a slowing down of outer expression. Scorpio is adept at reading between the lines as its inner  stream of consciousness comes into greater resolution. As a water sign it is connected to the unconscious through feeling its own hidden depths and like a guardian the sign sits with the tensions that brings.  

Deep, still and pressurized it wants to know why something is happening, not just that it is. Keeper of secrets, Scorpio is the repository for what the collective deems taboo or unacceptable. 

Beneath the Surface: Architect of Depth

This subliminal awareness every Scorpio has, giving this fixed water sign an immovable quality. It reads between the lines sensing hidden motives in a complement given, because this reflects  the wound someone is defending with regards to power or perfection. It takes the guesswork out of life because it ‘knows’ via its own deeply felt emotional forensics. Their use of pattern recognition takes soul analysis to the level of surgical clarity. 

To understand Scorpio, one must feel their own hidden depths and sit with the tension of what they find there. This is a sign of psychic containment: what it knows, it does not always speak. What it feels, it does not always show. It is the crucible in which raw emotion, primal desire, and unconscious material are compressed until transformation becomes inevitable.

 The Alchemy of Intensity: Desire

These depths allow it to focus its concentration with a laser like ability. This sign cannot be fooled, it is two steps ahead of everyone else. It follows LIbra, the sign that brought you an intimate partner. But what separates that partner from every other relationship you have, is sexuality where it is not just about pleasure but potential. 

Ruled by Mars, desire is the barometer by which their energy rises or falls based on how it is handled. It asks to be transmuted and not denied. It acts like a heat signature indicating where the life force is hiding. It can be hard to relax because the intensity of their desires creates constant tension. This is what makes them so wonderful and dynamic, while simultaneously carrying their hurts deep inside. 

Scorpio lives with an inner contradiction that leads to the tension they are known for. True transformation only happens through surrender which is at odds with the control they crave to feel safe. This alchemical tension asks Scorpio to learn to relax with intensity, to pursue desire without being consumed by it. It’s like walking a tightrope.

Power Play

This is a sign with radar for human motives. It is skilled in sensing the play of power at any moment based on its understanding of vulnerability as a currency, which has both risks and uses. Scorpio’s own vulnerability is living under the weight of knowing too much, too soon, and too deeply. It is a sign that can be gentle and simultaneously able to take drastic measures if required. It can make decisions instantaneously and does not doubt them, because it is connected to the deep self. It acts when action is required.

This quality gives them great executive abilities. A fixed sign with their capacity for concentration they stayed focused on the overall structure of an organization.  It knows how to get the job done. And no effort or sacrifice is too great. Ruled by Mars, Scorpio can compromise to keep the ship going in a way that Aries, also ruled by Mars, resists. They are loyal to their employers and they inspire trust in their employees.

Access Points: Reproduction and Regeneration

Scorpio's loyalty is rooted in the family survival dynamic, it’s a tribal instinct. The other water signs like Cancer are concerned with individual survival and Pisces with social survival. Water is the force that coalesces people into groups. Scorpio has a deep need to be a part of a ‘family’ as a stabilizing force for itself. Its undying loyalty to the ‘family’ defies logic and needs to be understood. If this is not the personal family it will find family in groups or organizations. This is how it buffers the deep connection it has to the depths of humanity through a  great emotional force that underlies all their attachments. 

Scorpio rules the reproductive organs, this is where raw instincts meet next level soul growth. 

This gives it the ability to tap into the creative and regenerative forces sexuality holds. Scorpio finds strength in energetic fusion. Sexuality with an intimate partner is the closest you can get to this state: the most honest conversation you can have. Consequently, when trust is betrayed the rupture isn’t just emotional, it’s an existential crisis. 

Like all signs it can have a low expression or high expression dependent upon their passions and motivations. In the negative they can be jealous and possessive and are lethal in their vengeance if they are wronged ... for real. The struggle they have with their passions is a precursor to the renewal and self-transformation they experience, along with their penetrating gaze and intelligence they have the capacity to regenerate and mend life’s defects.  

Trial by Soul

Scorpio is the center of the soul and has high ideals with a tremendous sense of dedication and purpose to their chosen path. On a magical note they rely on their intuition and psychic abilities; and through the connection with the unconscious they see the mysteries of life without taking on the karma of others.
